Beginning with item #53, are verbs of action identified by a slash “-“.   Prior to that, were verbs in command form.  The slash emphasizes that a pronoun prefix and a tense marker must preceed the verb.  Mfano: (Example)   Ninacheza=  Ni-= “I”  -na- = present tense

–cheza=  play or am playing.   If a sentence were to begin with  “cheza”  it would express the command to “play”.  In that case the verb would stand alone, and would not have the slash at the beginning.

Example:  (Mfano): Juma, kunywa kahawa na mgeni kabla ya kucheza

Juma, drink coffee with the guest before playing.

Kucheza=  to play or playing.  The “ku-“ is a gerund that transforms the verb into a noun or translates to “to” as in “ to play”
